Google I/O 2026 Unveils Gemini 3.5 and Gemini Omni Framework
Google I/O 2026 showcased Gemini 3.5 and the multimodal Gemini Omni framework, targeting native agentic workflows and real-time audio-visual integration.
At its annual developer conference, Google unveiled Gemini 3.5 and a new framework called Gemini Omni. These releases mark Google's transition into the 'agentic era', with model architectures designed to autonomously execute complex workflows rather than simply answering static prompts.
Gemini Omni introduces native, zero-latency processing of audio and video inputs, allowing users to interact with the model in real time using voice and camera feeds. Google demonstrated use cases ranging from real-time programming assistance to live language translation and interactive customer support agents.
Developers will gain access to Gemini 3.5 Pro and Flash starting next week. The company also announced deep integration of Gemini 3.5 into Workspace, Google Cloud, and Android 17, positioning its agentic ecosystem as a central productivity driver for global businesses.
